Royal Enfield will be introducing three new motorcycles to broaden the Himalayan portfolio in the Indian market

Royal Enfield Himalayan is one of the most efficient and competent adventure motorcycles currently available in the Indian market. Last year, the Chennai-based bike manufacturer introduced the all-new Himalayan 450 while phasing out the Himalayan 411. Now, we have heard that Royal Enfield has some grand plans to expand the Himalayan range. In this piece, we will talk in detail about the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycles in India.

1. Royal Enfield Himalayan Rally Edition

If you love off-roading, Royal Enfield has something very special in store for you. Royal Enfield Himalayan Rally Edition has been spotted as test mule multiple times with several custom-built components to enhance the off-roading experience for the riders. As per reports, the Himalayan Rally will be offered with knuckle guards, cross-spoke tubeless tyres and rally tail cowl.

In addition, the motorcycle will also feature a different exhaust pipe in an up-swept position. Mechanically, it will continue to carry the same 452cc liquid-cooled engine, paired to a 6-speed transmission. Though an official announcement is awaited from Royal Enfield, we expect the Himalayan Rally Edition to debut at Motoverse 2024 in Goa on Nov 22.

2. Royal Enfield Himalayan 650

If you can’t stop loving the all-new Himalayan 450, then something even better is heading your way. Royal Enfield is working on a bigger and more powerful iteration of the highly-popular Himalayan with a 650cc engine. Recently, a test unit of Himalayan 650 was caught on camera near the company’s production facility in Chennai.

The spy-shots indicated that the motorcycle is in advanced stages of development and it could enter production sooner than later. Based on the Interceptor 650, it will use a trellis frame while drawing power from the same 648cc parallel-twin engine with a 6-speed transmission. We expect Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 to launch next year in the Indian market.

3. Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric Bike

Royal Enfield is venturing into an unexplored territory, i.e. rolling out an all-electric motorcycle. We have seen legendary roadsters, cruisers and adventure bikes from the brand, but it will be the first time that we will be witnessing a Royal Enfield electric motorcycle. The company has officially confirmed that its first electric motorcycle will debut on Nov 4 at EICMA 2024 in Italy. But which model will it be? Will there be only one bike or more? These are a few questions that are troubling every Royal Enfield fan and the entire motoring community.

At EICMA 2023, Royal Enfield had showcased the Himalayan electric concept, so the possibility of a production-ready Himalayan electric motorcycle can’t be ruled out either. However, Siddhartha Lal, MD of Eicher Motors, was recently spotted riding the production version of an electric motorcycle on the streets of Barcelona, Spain. The spy-images showed a different model altogether, which could be christened as Flying Flea. So, nothing is confirmed at the moment and we have to wait till Nov 4 to get a clear picture of things unfolding.
