Production-Spec Maruti Suzuki eVX To Premiere On November 4

The Maruti Suzuki eVX will be introduced in India early next year; expected to offer a claimed range of over 550 km per charge

Maruti Suzuki unveiled the eVX concept at the 2023 Auto Expo and later showcased it at the Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo. The concept was also featured at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 in February. The production version is set to make its global debut in Milan, Italy on November 2024 ahead of the domestic premiere in January 2025 at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo.

The electric midsize SUV will go on sale before the end of the first quarter of 2025. Maruti Suzuki is rigorously testing the eVX in preparation for its much-awaited local launch with plans to prioritize exports for international markets as well. Spy shots of test mules indicate that the SUV is close to production-ready, revealing several prominent features that will appear in the final model.

The Maruti Suzuki eVX will sport sharp LED headlamps and tail lamps, highlighted by unique LED Daytime Running Lights. At the rear, a horizontal LED light bar will link the tail lamps, enhanced by dual parallel light signatures. Recent spy shots reveal a new set of alloy wheels with a sportier design.

With an expected starting price of approximately Rs. 15 lakh (ex-showroom), the Maruti Suzuki eVX will compete with models like the the Tata Nexon EV, the recently launched MG Windsor EV, Tata Curvv EV and the Mahindra XUV400 amongst others. A Toyota counterpart is also slated for release in H2 2025 and its production will begin in Q2 2025 at SMC’s plant in Gujarat.

The eVX will come equipped with six airbags as standard, a digital instrument console, a large touchscreen infotainment system, leatherette seats, multiple drive modes, a wireless smartphone charger, panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, a heads-up display, ventilated and powered front seats, a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, Level 2 ADAS tech, etc.

The Maruti Suzuki eVX is likely to feature a 60 kWh battery pack, providing a driving range of over 550 km on a single charge in the top-spec trims while the low-end versions will feature a smaller battery. This midsize electric SUV will also be compatible with DC fast charging and perhaps b-directional charging as well.
